All TC/American Trolleys are designed with a swiveling and pivoting connection of the load to the trolley yoke. Depending upon the model and capacity of the trolley, this may be a simple pin connection on a low capacity trolley, or it may be a fully articulated connection on higher capacity trolleys featuring a spherical base in the yoke with a mating spherical washer and thrust bearing.

The articulating trolley design allows a trolley fitting or load bar up to 5 degrees of movement from centerline. This feature reduces stress on the trolley wheels, increases the life of the trolley and rail, while also improving the overall smoothness of the trolley movement. Trolley wheels are kept in full and equal contact with the rail riding tread to maintain equal and balanced loading on the rail.
TC/American trolley wheels are machined with a flat riding tread which is hardened to 425 Brinell minimum, to give years of rugged service; are designed to run on the flat riding surface of our patented rail. Unlike the tapered tread wheels used on I-beam tracks, our flat tread trolleys operate with less stress and friction for greater wheel and rail life.
Flanged, Flangeless Wheels
TC/American trolleys are designed with either flanged or flangeless wheels. Flanged wheels are satisfactory for straight rail applications, slower speeds and lighter loads. Flangeless wheels, combined with side guide rollers, are best for curved rails, switches, higher speeds and heavier loads.
Load Bars, Fittings
Standard load bars or fittings such as eye bolts or hooks or studs are available and are complementary to each model of TC/American trolley. This provides the most efficient and economical connection of TC/A trolleys to end trucks, hoists or other carriers with minimal headroom required, whether for straight rail only or for systems with curves and switches. We solve unique application problems by providing special connections.
Spark Resistance, Special Uses
Trolleys are available with bronze wheels or other materials for spark-resistant applications or other special uses.
